A 74 anni èmorto allo Scripps Hospita di La Jolla, in California, J.J.Cale .......... Nato a Oklaoma City il 5 dicembre 1938 cresce a Tulsa e si trasferisce ventiseienne a Los Angeles dove scrive - e incide - After midnight . Ma non succede nulla, tanto che dopo un po’ di tentativi rientra a Tulsa dove per sbarcare il lunario si esibisce nei club. La svolta è tutta nel nome di «slowhand», Eric Clapton, che  nel 1970 inserisce After midnight nel suo disco d’esordio solista. Cale lo scopre solo quando vede l’album schizzare ai vertici delle  classifiche. L’amico - e produttore- Audie Ashworth lo spinge allora

The Hotel Alexis Formed in 2004 by Sidney Lindner (erstwhile member of Torrez and Josh Ritter's band) along with cohorts Gregg Porter, Kimberlee Torrez and Nathan Groth.  Raised on Fire , il loro terzo album in uscita a settembre                  Sidney Lindner un folk lo-fi che mi ricorda il grande Smog aka Bill Callahan. Non è facile trovare la canzone perfetta. Dove tutto, dalla prima nota all'ultima, riesce a darti pienezza  d'ascolto ed emozione. Insieme alle note musicali,  la scelta degli strumenti, l'arrangiamento,  la produzione.  Come inizia, si svolge, chiude, la voce e il modo di cantare.   Questa Lose My Head di Damien Jurado , è la prima canzone perfetta di questo mio scalcagnato blog.  E' la track nr. 12 dell'album I Break Chairs del 2002. un grande album Le canzoni perfette me le porto dietro per sempre e mi fanno star bene I won't pretend not to see you looking I smile and walk the other way Kept alive in pictures Still shots of you sleeping And I play the movies in my mind If I ever lose my head Don't ever let me lose my head High above me far from all who see you You play the hero in my song This is my blue one That one makes me happy Call in another round of cheer If I ever lose my head Don't ever let me lose my head
